Non-Executive Director recruitment
Welcome from Natalie McMillan, Deputy Chair and SID and John Laville, Lead Governor
Dear Candidate,
Thank you for your interest in the role of Non-Executive Director (Chair of Audit Committee) at South West Yorkshire Partnership Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. This is an important and exciting moment for our organisation, and we are delighted that you are considering joining us.
Our Trust has strong foundations, a clear strategic direction, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of the people and communities we serve. We provide a broad range of mental health, learning disability, community and secure services across Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield. We also provide low and medium secure services to the whole of Yorkshire. Our critical services are delivered by a 4,700 strong, dedicated workforce and strengthened through our valued partnerships across health and care in both the West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire integrated care systems.
At a time of significant system reform, and as we align our ambitions with Fit for the Future: the NHS 10‑Year Health Plan for England, we are seeking a financially qualified Non‑Executive Director to Chair our Audit Committee. Working closely with our Board and Members’ Council, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening our governance, financial oversight, risk management and assurance arrangements, building on a strong platform of achievement. As Chair of our Audit Committee, you will champion our values, support a culture of transparency and accountability, and ensure we remain a safe, sustainable and well‑governed organisation, enabling our people to deliver high‑quality, compassionate care for our diverse communities.
This is an exceptional opportunity for you to bring your strong track record of board‑level leadership and financial stewardship in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments to influence our future direction and support our ongoing commitment to helping people reach their potential and live well in their communities.
